SEC Names New Director of the Division of Enforcement

Judge Ryan is a senior judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Previously, she was a partner at two law firms, clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and served as a U.S. Marine Corps judge advocate and communications officer.

Acting Director of Enforcement Sam Waldon will step down on September 2, 2025. Mr. Waldon has served in the role since January and will return to his position as Chief Counsel for the Division.
