SEC Sets New Deadline for 12 Reopened Comment Periods
Comments on 11 SEC proposed rulemakings and one Request for Information ("RFI") that were reopened for public input are now due by November 1, 2022. The Notice was published in the Federal Register.
As previously covered, the SEC reopened the comment periods for 11 proposed rulemakings and one RFI due to a technical error that resulted in the SEC not receiving many of the comments initially submitted. The SEC said that it is still investigating the potentially compromised SRO proposed rulemakings and will take further action if deemed necessary. The SEC encouraged participants to resubmit any comments submitted after June 2021 to ensure their comments were received.
The proposals now open for comment again include:
-
Amendments to the NMS Plan Governing CAT for Purposes of Short Sale-related Data Collection;
-
Cybersecurity Risk Management, Strategy, Governance and Incident Disclosure;
-
The Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-related Disclosures for Investors;
-
Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, Shell Companies and Projections;
-
Request for Comment on Certain Information Providers Acting as Investment Advisers.
