SEC Opens New Comment Period on Proposal to Revise CAT Reporter Agreements

The SEC opened a new comment period to consider whether to approve a joint SRO-proposed amendment to revise the Consolidated Audit Trail ("CAT") Reporter Agreement and the CAT Reporter Agent Agreement.

The proposal was first published in the Federal Register on September 28, 2022, after the securities exchanges withdrew an initial proposed amendment on September 6, 2022 (see previous coverage). The SEC instituted the proceedings in order to "determine whether to disapprove the Proposed Amendment or to approve the Proposed Amendment with any changes or subject to any conditions the [SEC] deems necessary or appropriate."

Comments and objections to the proposal are due by January 19, 2023. Rebuttals to submitted comments and objections must be submitted by February 2, 2023.
