President Trump Withdraws Nomination of Brian Quintenz for CFTC Chair
President Donald Trump withdrew the nomination of Brian Quintenz to serve as Chair of the CFTC.
Acting Chair Caroline Pham will continue to serve until the confirmation of her successor.
Mr. Quintenz was nominated earlier this year for a term expiring in 2029. He previously served as a CFTC Commissioner from 2017 to 2021 and later worked in the private sector advising blockchain and Fintech firms. (See previous coverage.)
In remarks reported by Politico, Mr. Quintenz called the nomination and confirmation process a privilege and thanked both the President and the Senate Agriculture Committee for their consideration.
