SEC Sets Effective Date for Amendments to Commission-related Privacy Act Regulations
The SEC set an effective date of October 26, 2023 for Commission-related amendments to the Privacy Act. The effective date was published in the Federal Register.
As previously covered, the amendments introduce electronic methods for identity verification and Privacy Act requests (see related coverage) and replace related Privacy Act regulations. The amendments apply to requests to the agency and do not affect regulations on registrants.
