SEC Sets Comment Deadline for Privacy Act Proposal
Comments on the SEC's proposal to amend several procedural provisions within the regulations promulgated under the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, are due by April 17, 2023. The notice was published in the Federal Register.
The Privacy Act is the principal law governing the handling of personal information in the federal government. Due to the scope of the amendments, the SEC said that the proposal would supersede its current Privacy Act regulations in its entirety.
