Rostin Behnam Sworn in as CFTC Commissioner
Rostin Behnam was sworn in as a Commissioner of the CFTC.
On August 3, 2017, Mr. Behnam was confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate along with Brian Quintenz. Mr. Quintenz was sworn in on August 16, 2017.
As reported previously, there are now two Republican and two Democratic Commissioners. (Chair J. Christopher Giancarlo and Mr. Quintenz are Republicans, and Sharon Bowen and Mr. Behnam are Democrats.)
Ms. Bowen will step down at the end of the month. A third Republican, Dawn DeBerry Stump, was approved by the Senate Agriculture Committee but is yet to receive a confirmation vote from the full Senate.
