CFPB Requests Information on Financial Education Programs
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") issued a Request for Information ("RFI") on the agency's consumer financial education programs. The current education programs for consumers and financial educators cover topics including mortgages, credit reporting, student loans, debt collection and bank accounts.
In particular, the CFPB is requesting input on how to:
-
improve existing programs and delivery methods;
-
better assess the impact of education efforts; and
-
avoid the duplication of efforts by other agencies.
Comments will be accepted for 90 days following publication of the RFI in the Federal Register, which is expected to occur on April 9, 2018.
