Federal Register: CFTC Amends DCO Requirements

A CFTC final rule amending regulations governing derivatives clearing organizations ("DCOs") was published in the Federal Register. The final rule goes into effect on February 26, 2020 and compliance will be required by January 27, 2021.

As previously covered, the CFTC unanimously approved amending its DCO regulations to, among other things, (i) modify certain risk management and reporting obligations, (ii) clarify the meaning of certain provisions, (iii) simplify processes for registration and reporting, and (iv) codify existing staff relief and guidance.
