SIFMA Backs SEC Review of CAT Costs, Governance and Data Security

SIFMA expressed support for the SEC undertaking a comprehensive review of the Consolidated Audit Trail ("CAT").

In a statement, SIFMA President and CEO Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. said the organization has long called for a public review addressing CAT costs, governance, funding, and the scope and security of data held within the system. Mr. Bentsen said SIFMA previously made recommendations aimed at making the CAT more efficient and cost-effective without compromising its regulatory purpose.
