CFTC Innovation Task Force to Focus on Crypto, AI, and Prediction Markets

The CFTC announced that its newly formed Innovation Task Force ("ITC") will concentrate on three emerging technological sectors: crypto assets and blockchain technologies; artificial intelligence and autonomous systems; and prediction markets and event contracts.

In its release, the CFTC said that the ITC would be led by Michael J. Passalacqua, adviser to CFTC Chair Michael S. Selig. The agency named the ITC members which represent public and private sector expertise, including internal CFTC staff from various offices and divisions, as well as non-agency individuals who have extensive private sector experience in these technological areas.
