The CFTC gave notice that it intends to survey futures commission merchants and introducing brokers on the direct costs of complying with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering requirements.
The CFTC said that its survey aims to gather data on the financial impact of BSA/AML regulations and may inform deregulatory proposals.
The CFTC "information collection request" requires approval from the Office of Management and Budget ("OMB"). Comments on the information collection request must be submitted to OMB by January 14, 2026.
In November, the SEC gave notice that it is soliciting comments on similar information from registered broker-dealers and registered mutual funds.
