The Acting Comptroller of the Currency Rodney E. Hood reaffirmed the OCC's commitment to creating "pathways to financial inclusion and generational wealth."

Speaking before the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals' Homeownership and Housing Policy Conference, Mr. Hood said that "financial inclusion is more than just a regulatory objective; it is a cornerstone of economic empowerment." He emphasized the significance of homeownership as a foundation for "accumulating and transferring" wealth and a tool for "breaking the cycle of poverty."

Mr. Hood cited the OCC's Project REACh initiative as a key effort in addressing economic disparities. He stressed that homeownership must not only be more "attainable" but also sustainable, ensuring that homeownership "is accessible to every individual, regardless of their background or economic status."
