Regulators Extend Compliance Deadline on Amendments to Private Fund Reporting

The CFTC and the SEC extended the date for compliance with amended Form PF from March 12, 2025 to June 12, 2025.

Form PF is used for reporting confidential information on operations and strategies of private fund by certain SEC-registered investment advisers to private funds, including those that also are registered with the CFTC as a commodity pool operator ("CPO") or commodity trading adviser ("CTA"). The additional information required by the amendments include data about a fund's assets, financing, investor concentration and performance. (See previous coverage.)

The regulators are delaying the compliance date in response to a request from industry groups for an extension due to challenges in reporting cycles, technological burdens and overlapping compliance obligations.
