Division of Trading and Markets Director to Depart SEC

Haoxiang Zhu, Director of the SEC Division of Trading and Markets, will leave the agency effective December 10, 2024. Deputy Director David Saltiel will serve as Acting Director following Mr. Zhu's departure.

In a statement, Mr. Zhu reflected on his tenure, calling it his "greatest honor and privilege" to lead the Division. Chair Gensler commended Mr. Zhu's leadership, highlighting achievements such as expanding central clearing in the Treasury market, shortening settlement cycles, modernizing Regulation NMS and strengthening broker-dealer regulations. 

Mr. Zhu will return to his academic role at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
