Enforcement Division Director Gurbir S. Grewal to Leave SEC

Gurbir S. Grewal, Director of the SEC's Division of Enforcement, will leave the Commission effective October 11, 2024.

SEC Chair Gary Gensler commended Mr. Grewal for his leadership. Mr. Grewal's tenure was marked by more than 2,400 enforcement actions, resulting in over $20 billion in financial remedies, including $1 billion in whistleblower awards.

Sanjay Wadhwa, the current Deputy Director, will step in as Acting Director. Sam Waldon, Chief Counsel of the Enforcement Division, will assume the position of Acting Deputy Director.
