OFR to Expand Interagency Data-and-Analytics Climate Platform

The Office of Financial Research ("OFR") is developing an "expanded and enhanced" interagency data-and-analytics platform. OFR said the new "Joint Analysis Data Environment" ("JADE") will be available later in 2023.

In a press release on the initiative, OFR explained that JADE is the follow-up to a successful pilot program that provided staff from the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the NY Fed with access to "public climate data and high-performance computing tools, such as statistical and visualization applications." OFR said that the pilot program offered "deeper insight into climate-related financial risks and vulnerabilities."

In addition, OFR stated that JADE will offer end-users the ability to "integrate and analyze a broad spectrum of financial and other relevant data," which the agency said would "support comprehensive financial-stability research."
