Ian McGinley Will Serve as CFTC's Next Enforcement Director

The CFTC appointed Ian McGinley to serve as the agency's next Director of Enforcement.

Previously, Mr. McGinley served as a prosecutor at the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York ("SDNY"), leading the Complex Frauds and Cyber Crime Unit and also serving as a senior member of the Securities and Commodities Task Force, among other positions. At SDNY, Mr. McGinley focused on a wide range of practice areas, including market manipulation, insider trading, cryptocurrency fraud, bank fraud, and cybercrime.

Mr. McGinley succeeds Gretchen Lowe, who has served as the Acting Director of Enforcement since April 2022.
