Martin J. Gruenberg Sworn In as FDIC Chair

Martin J. Gruenberg was sworn in as Chair of the FDIC.

Mr. Gruenberg was appointed Chair by President Joseph R. Biden for a term of five years. Mr. Gruenberg first joined the FDIC Board in 2005 and previously served as FDIC Chair from November 2012 to June 2018. He remains a Director on the FDIC Board of Directors.

Additionally, Travis Hill was appointed Vice Chair. Mr. Hill was previously a Senior Advisor to the FDIC Chair. Mr. Hill, along with Jonathan McKernan, were appointed members of the FDIC Board of Directors. Mr. McKernan previously served as Counsel on the staff of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs and as a Treasury Department Senior Policy Advisor.
