Mark Uyeda Sworn In as New SEC Commissioner
Mark T. Uyeda was sworn into office as a new SEC commissioner, filling a term that will expire on June 5, 2023.
Commissioner Uyeda was nominated by President Joseph R. Biden on April 7, 2022, and was confirmed by the Senate on June 16, 2022.
Commissioner Uyeda previously served as Senior Advisor to former Chair Jay Clayton, Senior Adviser to former Acting Chair Michael S. Piwowar, Counsel to former Commissioner Paul S. Atkins, and held various staff positions in the Division of Investment Management. Most recently, Mr. Uyeda served as a securities counsel to the Senate Banking Committee Minority Staff.
