SEC Appoints New Acting Director for the Division of Examinations

SEC New York Regional Office Director Richard R. Best was appointed Acting Director of the SEC Division of Examinations. Mr. Best served previously as the Director of the Atlanta and Salt Lake City Regional Offices.

Daniel S. Kahl, former Acting Director of the Division since July 2021, will be leaving the agency following 21 years of service at the SEC. Mr. Kahl served previously as Deputy Director and as Chief Counsel.

Lara Shalov Mehraban was appointed the New York Regional Office's Acting Director. Ms. Mehraban has served as the Associate Regional Director for Enforcement in the New York Regional Office since 2015.
