SEC Names New Deputy Director of Enforcement
The SEC named Marc P. Berger, current Director of the SEC's New York Regional Office, as Deputy Director of the Division of Enforcement. Mr. Berger, formerly an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York ("SDNY"), served as Chief of the SDNY's Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force, and as a litigation partner and Global Co-Head of Securities and Enforcement at Ropes & Gray LLP.
The SEC named Richard R. Best as Mr. Berger's successor in its New York Regional Office. Mr. Best was previously Regional Director of the SEC's Atlanta Office, joining the SEC initially in 2015 as Regional Director of its Salt Lake Office.
