President Trump Orders Federal Agencies to Facilitate Economic Recovery
President Donald J. Trump directed federal agencies to facilitate economic recovery in the United States by taking steps to speed up investments in infrastructure and enact other measures "to return Americans to work."
In the Executive Order, the President prioritized investments in (i) transportation, (ii) civil works within the purview of the Army Corps of Engineers and (iii) energy, environmental and natural resources projects on federal lands, "while providing appropriate protection for public health and safety, natural resources, and the environment, as required by law."
Further, the President directed all federal agencies to identify potential actions to support an economic recovery that may be undertaken pursuant to the (i) National Environmental Policy Act, (ii) Endangered Species Act, (iii) Emergency Consultation Regulations and (iv) emergency regulations and permits provided under the Clean Water Act.
The relevant federal agencies must provide summary reports within 30 days of the Executive Order listing all identified potential actions.
