OFAC Makes Technical Amendments to Nicaragua-Related General Licenses

OFAC made minor technical amendments to two Nicaragua-related general licenses (see here and here).

  • General License 1A, which replaces General License 1, allows certain transactions otherwise prohibited by the Nicaragua Sanctions Regulations that are for the conduct of official U.S. government business; and

  • General License 2A, which replaces General License 2, authorizes the wind-down of transactions involving the Nicaraguan National Police through 12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on May 6, 2020.
