FDIC Appoints New Chief Information Officer, Two New Directors
The FDIC appointed Howard Whyte as Chief Information Officer. Mr. Whyte has been the FDIC Chief Information Security Officer ("CISO") since January 2017. Previously, he worked in Global Threat Management at Goldman Sachs and as CISO at NASA. He also has held several other government, military, and private sector information technology positions.
The FDIC also appointed Ricardo Delfin as Director of the Office of Complex Financial Institutions ("OCFI"). He has been the Deputy Director of the OCFI Resolution Policy Branch since 2014. Mr. Delfin also has served as Executive Director of The Systemic Risk Council, special counsel to the Chair of the SEC, and senior counsel for the U.S. House Financial Services Committee.
Finally, the FDIC appointed John Conneely as Regional Director for the Chicago Region, effective January 2018. He is currently Director for the New York Region, and has been with the FDIC for 28 years.
