Treasury Removes Inoperative Thrift Supervision Rules from the CFR
The U.S. Department of the Treasury ("Treasury") is deleting the Office of Thrift Supervision ("OTS") regulations from the Code of Federal Regulations ("CFR"), effective immediately. As the OTS was abolished by Dodd-Frank and its powers were transferred to other agencies, Treasury is removing the regulations from the CFR to "eliminate confusion." Treasury noted that these regulations have been inoperative since 2011, when the OTS was abolished.
