OCC Adds Retail Lending Section to Comptroller's Handbook
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC") published a new booklet in the Comptroller's Handbook titled "Retail Lending." The booklet provides guidance regarding the risks associated with retail lending, explains best practices to manage retail credit risk appropriately, and describes practices bank examiners should employ when evaluating the "quantity of risk and quality of risk management."
This booklet is intended to supplement the core assessment made in the "Large Bank Supervision," "Community Bank Supervision" and "Federal Branches and Agencies Supervision" booklets.
