FRB and FOMC Request Comment on Interim Final Rule to Amend FOIA Processing Requirements
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System ("FRB") and the Federal Open Market Committee ("FOMC") requested public comment on an interim final rule to amend requirements for processing requests under the Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"). The amendments: (i) "clarify and update procedures for requested information from the Board"; (ii) extend the administrative appeals deadline; and (iii) provide further information on dispute resolution services.
The interim final rule will be effective on December 27, 2016. Comments on the interim final rule must be submitted 60 days following its publication in the Federal Register.
