Federal Register: CFTC Extends DTCC-SWIFT Designation as LEI Provider

The CFTC extended its designation of the joint venture by the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation and Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication ("DTCC-SWIFT") as the providers of legal entity identifiers ("LEIs"). The CFTC Order was published in the Federal Register.

The CFTC noted that the designation will now expire on July 24, 2017 and may be terminated by the CFTC with three months' notice upon (i) the establishment of the global LEI system, or (ii) the DTCC-SWIFT's exit from the global LEI system.
