IOSCO Issues Report on Cyber Resilience
IOSCO released a new report titled Cyber Security in Securities Markets – an International Perspective. The report provides cross–border guidance for various regulatory approaches to cyber security, and also offers tools with which to respond to cyber risk.
Topics covered by the report include:

the need for a collaborative approach to the definition of "cyber risk";

how securities regulators can mitigate cyber risks;

the need for reporting issuers to rely on the existing disclosure framework in order to ensure that investors receive material information; and

issues surrounding the importance of sharing cyber security-related information among market participants and regulators.
The report also offers descriptions of current cyber security practices that have been adopted by securities market participants, and of emerging trends and approaches in cyber security.
