CFTC Market Risk Advisory Committee Will Meet to Consider State of Derivatives

The CFTC Market Risk Advisory Committee ("MRAC") will hold a public meeting at the CFTC's Washington, D.C., headquarters on April 26, 2016. The meeting will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

At the meeting, the MRAC will focus on the state of the derivatives market. Topics for discussion will include (i) how effectively market participants in different asset classes are able to find counterparties for transactions, receive accurate pricing and volume information, and otherwise access the markets; and (ii) the nature of current usage of portfolio compression and related services, the extent of that usage, and the benefits and challenges posed by portfolio compression activity in the derivatives markets.
