SEC Names Managing Executive of OCIE
The SEC named Robert M. Fisher Managing Executive of the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations ("OCIE"). Mr. Fisher will succeed Peter B. Driscoll, who has been named Chief Risk and Strategy Officer of OCIE’s new Office of Risk and Strategy.
Dr. Fisher has been at the SEC since 2002. He was named an Assistant Director in the Office of International Affairs (OIA) in 2005, became OIA’s Deputy Director in 2012, and later served as the office’s Acting Director. In 2014, he joined OCIE as Associate Director within its Office of the Director. Prior to his tenure at the SEC, Dr. Fisher was an attorney in private practice and clerked for Judge Stephen F. Williams of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Dr. Fisher holds a Ph.D. and bachelor’s degree in Economics from Duke University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School (magna cum laude).
