EU Announces One-Year Extension for MiFID II

The European Commission granted a one-year extension to comply with the rules set forth under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive ("MiFID II"). The new deadline for compliance with MiFID II rules is January 3, 2018. The extension was granted to "take account of the exceptional technical implementation challenges faced by regulators and market participants."
