NFA Issues Interpretive Notice Regarding New Electronic Filing

The NFA released an Interpretive Notice regarding the electronic filing of financial reports. In partnership with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange ("CME") and the Chicago Board of Trade ("CBOT"), the NFA developed computer software that allows futures commission merchants ("FCMs"), retail foreign exchange dealers ("RFEDs") and introducing brokers ("IBs") to file financial reports electronically with the NFA, CME, CBOT and CFTC. The software accommodates filing of the Form 1-FR-FCM, Form 1-FR-IB, FOCUS II and FOCUS IIA Reports, including those that are required to be certified by a Certified Public Accountant. All FCMs and IBs for which the NFA is the designated self-regulatory organization, as well as all RFEDs, must file their financial reports electronically using this software.
