SEC Solicits Comments on Information Collection from Investment Companies Repurchasing Securities in Cash
The SEC issued a request for comment regarding the proposed collection of information under Investment Company Act Rule 23c-1(a). The Rule applies when a closed-end registered investment company repurchases its securities for cash.
The SEC is requesting comments on the following subjects:
- whether the collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the SEC, including whether the information has any practical utility;
- the accuracy of the SEC's estimate of the burden of the collection of information (1755 hours annually);
- ways to enhance the quality, utility and clarity of the information collected; and
- ways to minimize the burden of information collection on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques and other forms of information technology.
Comments must be submitted by March 30, 2015.
