OCC Issues Updated Comptroller's Handbook on Trade Finance and Services
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC") issued a revised booklet titled "Trade Finance and Services." The booklet is part of the Comptroller's Handbook.
The booklet, which replaces the "Trade Finance" and "Bankers' Acceptances" booklets that were issued in November 1998 and September 1999, respectively, includes (i) updated examination procedures concerning trade finance and services activities; (ii) a description of the types of products that national banks and federal savings associations may offer in their trade finance and services business lines; and (iii) information on the risks associated with trade finance and services, and on supervisory expectations for risk management.
