HM Treasury - Responses to Consultation on Amendments to Settlement Finality and Financial Collateral Arrangements Directives

Following the adoption of a directive to amend the Settlement Finality and Financial Collateral Arrangements Directives by the European Parliament and Council on May 6, 2009, Member States are required to adopt and publish legislative changes to their national laws by December 30, 2010. In the United Kingdom, HM Treasury issued a consultation paper on its proposed legislative changes in August 2010 and received a number of responses, a summary of which has now been published along with a revised legislative proposal which will be set out to Parliament.
