FERC Announces Workshop Regarding Price Formation Issues and Ancillary Services
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC") announced that it will hold a workshop to discuss with industry stakeholders existing market rules and operational practices involving price formation issues in energy and ancillary services markets operated the Regional Transmission Organizations ("RTOs") and Independent System Operators ("ISOs").
The workshop, which will be held on October 28, 2014, will address technical, operational, and market issues regarding price mitigation. The workshop will also address offer price caps, and scarcity and shortage pricing in energy and ancillary services markets operated by RTOs and ISOs. The workshop will be open for the public.
Additionally, FERC held a workshop on September 8, 2014, that focused on uplift payments in energy and ancillary services markets operated by RTOs and ISOs. A webcast of the hearing was provided.
