The Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee approved recommendations that the SEC propose a pilot program to adjust the access fee cap under NMS regulations. The pilot program is intended to help understand the effect of access fees on liquidity provision, liquidity taking and order routing.

Senator Elizabeth Warren argued that "the SEC has spent precious agency resources on a voluntary effort to reduce disclosure that appears to be aimed at addressing a problem – investor 'information overload' – that does not exist."

In order to provide a longer review period for two applicants to register with the SEC as Swap Data Repositories, the SEC extended an exemption for SDR Rules previously granted on March 18, 2016.

The SEC requested public comment on the application for registration as a security-based swap data repository of Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. The request was published in the Federal Register.
