SEC Names Chief Information Officer

The SEC named David Bottom as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Mr. Bottom was previously the CIO and Chief Data Officer at the Office of Intelligence and Analysis in the Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Bottom is currently working on development projects intended to improve federal agency usage of cloud and artificial intelligence technologies.

Prior to that, Mr. Bottom was a senior executive for ten years at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, where he served as Director of the Information Technology Directorate and Deputy Director of Enterprise Operations.

Mr. Bottom succeeds Chuck Riddle, who has been serving as the SEC Acting CIO.
