SEC Director of Corporation Finance Steps Down
Erik Gerding, Director of the SEC Division of Corporation Finance, will leave the agency effective December 31, 2024.
Deputy Director Cicely LaMothe will serve as Acting Director following Mr. Gerding's departure. She currently serves as Deputy Director, Disclosure Operations for the Division of Corporation Finance. She previously served as Program Director of the Disclosure Review Program, Associate Director of the Office of Assessment and Continuous Improvement, and Associate Director of Disclosure Operations.
Chair Gensler praised Mr. Gerding's leadership, citing reforms during his tenure on corporate governance, climate-related disclosures, cybersecurity and executive compensation transparency.
