MSRB Sets Comment Deadline on Extending Remote Office Inspection Relief
Comments on pandemic-related MSRB proposals to (i) extend remote office inspection relief and (ii) remove references to expired temporary relief are due by December 14, 2022. The notices were published separately in the Federal Register (see here and here).
As previously covered, the proposed amendments to MSRB Rule G-27 ("Supervision") extends the remote office inspection regulatory relief as a stopgap to preserve continuity as the agency works to implement a long-term hybrid system. The relief was set to expire on December 31, 2022 and was extended until June 30, 2023. The MSRB also proposed amendments to MSRB Rule G-3 ("Professional Qualification Requirements") to remove references to expired temporary relief implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The SEC also recently extended the comment period on a FINRA proposal to treat a private residence as a permissible non-branch location.
