SEC Forms Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee
The SEC announced the creation of a Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee (the "Committee").
The Committee was established to evaluate corporate bond and municipal securities markets, and to identify opportunities for regulatory improvements. SEC Chair Jay Clayton said that the Committee will help the SEC ensure that its "regulatory approach to these markets meets the needs of retail investors, as well as companies and state and local governments."
Chair Clayton appointed Michael Heaney as Chair of the Committee. Twenty-two other initial members were also named.
