MSRB Establishes Tech Advisory Group, Seeks Volunteers

The MSRB established a "Technology Advisory Group" to "provide input on technology innovation and assess market trends." 

The MSRB notified its members that it is seeking volunteers to oversee technology strategies, budgets and operations. The MSRB said it is seeking individuals who have "experience with technology infrastructure or with advancing technology innovation in financial markets, and market participants whose workflows significantly rely on evolving technology platforms."

The MSRB stated that participants will be tasked with:

• informing the MSRB's technology strategy and advancing the strategic goal of promoting market transparency; and
• conferring on the following issues: (i) technology innovation—including AI—in the municipal market; (ii) MSRB's technology investment priorities and strategy; (iii) differential impacts of evolving technologies on various municipal market stakeholders including issuers and retail investors; and (iv) technology implementation costs of regulatory initiatives.
