FTC Offers Additional Resources on Cyber Security for Small Businesses
The Federal Trade Commission, together with the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Standards and Technology ("NIST") and the Small Business Administration, introduced a national campaign to help small business owners understand cybersecurity and common cyber threats.
Educational Material on cybersecurity provided by the agencies through this new effort include:
- cybersecurity basics;
- understanding the NIST cybersecurity framework;
- physical security;
- ransomware;
- phishing;
- business email imposters;
- tech support scams;
- vendor security;
- cyber insurance;
- email authentication;
- hiring a web host; and
- secure remote access.
