SEC Names Rebekah Goshorn Jurata to PCAOB Board
The SEC named Rebekah Goshorn Jurata to the Public Company Account Oversight Board (PCAOB) for a five-year term that will run through October 24, 2024. Concurrently, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce was chosen to lead the SEC's coordination with the PCAOB.
Ms. Jurata, a White House aide, currently serves as Special Assistant to the President for Financial Policy, where she advises President Trump and the National Economic Council Director on various financial services issues. Ms. Jurata began her career as a staff attorney for the SEC Division of Trading and Markets, before serving as counsel to SEC Commissioner Daniel Gallagher, senior counsel to the House Financial Services Committee, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Finance Markets at the Department of the Treasury.
Ms. Jurata will replace Kathleen Hamm, a cybersecurity and FinTech expert who joined the PCAOB in January 2018 to complete the remaining term of an outgoing board member.
