President Trump Nominates Travis Hill for FDIC Chair

President Donald Trump nominated Travis Hill to be the next Chair of the FDIC. The term runs until September 30, 2030.

Mr. Hill currently serves as Acting Chair, a position he has held since the resignation of Martin Gruenberg. (See previous coverage.) Mr. Hill formerly served as Vice Chair. 

In a statement on the nomination, Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott lauded Mr. Hill's efforts to remove "reputational risk from bank supervision" and curb debanking of businesses operating in compliance with law.
