SEC to Host Public Forum on FinTech Innovation

The SEC will host a public forum to examine financial technology ("FinTech") innovation. Panels will discuss: (i) blockchain technology; (ii) automated investment advice or "robo-advisors"; and (iii) the impact on investors from online marketplace lending and crowdfunding.

The public forum will be held at SEC headquarters on November 14, 2016, and will be webcast live on the SEC website. The SEC noted that further information on the forum agenda and participants will be published in the coming weeks.
