FINRA Debuts Training Program to Support Crypto Compliance

FINRA launched a Crypto and Blockchain Education Program to strengthen member firms’ knowledge of digital assets and related risks.

FINRA explained that the initiative will include self-paced e-learning courses through its Financial Learning Experience platform beginning in October, along with an applied in-person course. FINRA stated that the initial modules will cover: (i) crypto and blockchain fundamentals; (ii) on-chain operations; (iii) asset types; (iv) market structure; (v) compliance considerations; and (vi) fraud typologies.

FINRA stated that the program is designed to strengthen industry knowledge, support compliance functions, and provide tools to better identify and mitigate risks related to crypto asset activity.
