Former Alabama Resident Pleads Guilty to DOJ Charges for Concealment of Terrorism Financing

A former Alabama resident pled guilty to DOJ charges for concealment of terrorist financing.

According to the DOJ, Alaa Mohd Abusaad gave an FBI undercover employee ("UCE") direction on how to send money to terrorists without detection from law enforcement. Additionally, the DOJ founded that Ms. Abusaad introduced the UCE to a financial facilitator who would be able to route the UCE's money to al Qaeda.

Ms. Abusaad's sentencing is scheduled for January 16, 2020.
